EXPERTISE
Passionate about maintenance, Eric Martel, the company's founder, has held every position in an industrial organization, from the workshop to general management. Mechanic, supervisor, maintenance manager, operations manager: he understands the constraints of each role, the real room for maneuver, and the challenges that exist between levels.
A graduate of ÉTS , he holds the PGM/MMP certification from the Canadian Association of Asset Management ( PEMAC ) as a maintenance management professional.
This depth of experience allows him to intervene with a concrete understanding of the challenges of the entire structure, with an operational, strategic and human perspective: he understands what it means to be a supervisor on the floor, and what it takes to be a director who has to answer for their actions.

OUR TURNKEY SERVICES
Each term is built
depending on your reality, your level of organizational maturity and your business priorities.
Industrial maintenance audit
Before considering changes, it's essential to know where you truly stand. An audit provides a clear picture of your practices, processes, and level of maturity.
of your organization in terms of maintenance to identify the levers that will have the most impact in the short, medium and long term.
Asset lifecycle management
Every piece of equipment has a mission and a lifecycle. Defining needs, acquisition, maintenance strategies, replacement, and disposal: the decisions made at each stage directly influence your costs, risks, and overall performance. We help you decide with data, not perceptions.
CMMS implementation or migration
A poorly structured CMMS becomes a tool that no one really uses, and a CMMS without one means no historical data. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to improve an existing system, we structure your data, adapt the tool to your processes, and ensure that the implementation is truly adopted by your teams.
Optimizing maintenance processes
Unclear roles, redundant steps, lost information: these daily frictions are costly. We clarify responsibilities, simplify processes, and create coherent procedures that integrate with your realities on the ground.
Maintenance strategies per asset
Planned corrective actions, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance: the right choice depends on your equipment, your operational context, and your objectives. To support this, we use proven methods: criticality analysis, FMEA, RCM, root cause analysis – to justify each decision rather than simply reacting to it. Together, we define the strategy best suited to each asset, avoiding both over- and under-intervention.
Spare parts management
Not too much, not too little. A missing critical component can paralyze production. Unnecessary overcapitalization drains your resources. We help you find the right balance and secure what truly matters.
Coaching and development
Technical expertise alone is not enough to lead a team. I support your mechanics, supervisors, planners, and managers to strengthen their leadership skills, analytical abilities, and tangible impact on the ground.
Change management
A well-designed new process is worthless if no one applies it six months later. Buy-in is cultivated from the outset, so that the changes become ingrained in habits and last beyond the mandate.
Planning and management of major shutdowns
A poorly planned major shutdown can be disastrous for many organizations, both financially and operationally. I will assist you with the planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure your planned shutdown is a success and is completed on time and within budget.
NOVECTRA CONSULTING'S VISION
An approach where the tools serve the teams, not the other way around.
A good diagnosis is not enough. A well-chosen tool is not enough. A one-time training session is not enough. For a transformation to be lasting, it must be integrated by the people who live with it on a daily basis.
That's why each intervention combines honest diagnosis, a clear structure, skills transfer, on-the-ground support, and post-launch follow-up. The desired outcome is not dependence on a consultant, but the long-term autonomy of your teams.

THE NOVECTRA CONSULTING APPROACH
A method built on field experience
Before founding Novectra Conseil, I went through every stage of an industrial organization. Mechanic by trade, heavy machinery operator, entrepreneur, then progressively towards supervisory roles, maintenance and operations management, up to the general management of Canadian subsidiaries in the waste collection and transportation sector.
This experience has given me a comprehensive understanding of what industrial organizations face: the constraints on the ground, the trade-offs made by management, and the strategic challenges facing leadership. Today, this trajectory is at the heart of Novectra Conseil's values, allowing me to quickly grasp where the real problem lies, not just where it manifests itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Listening comes before diagnosis. When the problem is already clear, we move directly to action. When it isn't, a maturity audit provides an honest picture of the organization: its processes, tools, teams, culture, and operational context. Only then can we identify what truly matters and the order in which to act.
It depends on the scope of work. A targeted intervention can be completed in a few days. An audit takes a few weeks. A CMMS implementation or a maintenance strategy transformation can extend over several months. Some clients prefer a recurring presence, a few days a month, to support their team. In all cases, the duration and deliverables are clearly defined from the outset.
Yes, in the majority of projects. It's a deliberate choice: you deal with the same person from start to finish, which guarantees consistency and continuity of approach. No file transfers, no context to re-explain. Depending on the project's scope, I rely on specialized collaborators, but I remain your single point of contact and the person responsible for delivery.
A change is sustainable when it no longer depends on the person who implemented it. In practical terms: I train your teams rather than delivering a turnkey system, I document the processes within your own tools, and I ensure that someone within your organization champions each new practice. My role is to empower you. The success of a project is measured by what remains effective after I've left.
Yes. The goal is not to replace a tool without reason. We start by understanding how your system is used today, what works, what doesn't, and together we identify the real levers for improvement.
Together, we define the concrete indicators that are important from the start of the mandate: equipment availability, maintenance costs, adherence to schedules, reduction of unplanned downtime. Progress is measurable and documented.
Primarily in manufacturing, processing, transformation, and food processing, with additional experience in fleet management and heavy equipment. If your sector isn't listed here, an initial conversation will allow us to determine if a collaboration is a good fit.
I primarily serve Greater Montreal and the surrounding regions: Laval, Longueuil, Montérégie, the Laurentians, the Eastern Townships, Central Quebec, and Mauricie. Part of the work is done remotely, which makes many projects feasible elsewhere in Quebec. Contact me and we can discuss your needs.
Free and without obligation, it lasts approximately one hour; in person or via video conference, whichever suits you best. Its purpose is to understand your challenges, to see if the approach aligns with your reality, and to determine together if a collaboration makes sense. It's a conversation, not a sales pitch.
